Narrow Band Light Therapy

Narrow-band light therapy (sometimes seen as narrowband UVB) is a fantastic, non-invasive and painless way to treat skin conditions such as Psoriasis and Eczema. “Narrowband” refers to a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light which has been found to be the most beneficial component of natural sunlight when use to treat non-cancer skin conditions.

What is Narrowband light therapy

Narrowband light therapy works by reducing skin inflammation and slowing down the production of excess skin cells. UV light is applied to a small area using a torch-like device, or to the entire body by means of a specialised cabinet which the patient stands in. The treatment is done on a regular scheduled basis for a set period, around three times per week for up to six weeks. Initial treatments are applied in lower dosages, sometimes only a few seconds, and then are slowly increased over the treatment weeks.
